Reconciliation, a pending issue in El Salvador's peace process

June 2019, with the signing of the Peace Accords in Chapultepec Mexico on January 16, 1992, Salvadoran society thought that impunity in the country would end and a process of reconciliation would begin. Twenty seven years have passed, and relatives of victims of the armed conflict and human rights organizations are still fighting for the approval of a National Reconciliation Law to judge war criminals.

Colindres defeats the Salvadoran state

July 2019, in the late 90s, Eduardo Colindres was dismissed as a TSE magistrate, on two occasions, in an irregular manner by the Legislative Assembly. Colindres tried to seek justice at the national level, but failed. More than 20 years later, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights ruled in his favor and condemned the Salvadoran state for the damages caused to the former official.
